Faces Facts I've been collecting thousands of photos of our club members over the years. Within that gold mine of images are thousands of individual faces. I began work on the faces project several months ago. It works like this: Specialized software (Riya) scans my photos and extracts the individual faces automatically. Then begins the laborious task of labeling each extracted face with a name. Once I have done that, the software continues to extract and automatically recognize faces, adding them to the list. The software does not always chose the prettiest pose from its list of faces, but the idea here is to be able to recognize the person. If you want pretty pictures, visit my photo albums. So, please don't complain about the poses. However, if you find incorrect names, please let me know in an e-mail. If you see the word "Unknown" as part of a name, it means I didn't know or didn't remember it. If you know it, please tell me. If you want your face included and it isn't, send me a photo. I will update "Faces" periodically and as time permits. |
